A 'very' Brief History of the Karton Empire

Ancient Ruins

The Karton Empire is an ancient civilisation that dates its roots back over 10,000 years.

Much of the ancient history is now lost, but work to uncover information is on-going through an extensive archaeological research program.

Although an Empire, the emperor has long only held limited power, and has been a 4 yearly elected member of the Karton Parliament for over 200 years. The Empire decided to retain the title because it sounds much cooler than 'Republic'; and denoted authority and power (why would you need a better reason than this?).

Karton means Carton, box, container and direcly refers to the native Iced Coffee Tree which grow on Roe Island (Karton Empire's main Island).

The Empire was formed more than 2,500 years ago and has interacted with many of the major civilisations that have existed through the ages. Here are just a few examples:

Roman Invasion: 50 BC

Around 50 BC the Romans launched an invasion of Roe Island (Karton Empire's main Island). They successfully landed near Eoaozord on what is now known as Noob Beach. The Battle of Noob Beach raged for 3 days and the Roman force of 10,000 men where finally repelled. Back in Rome, the defeat was so terrible and their shame so great that they scrubbed all record of the invasion attempt in the History books.

Involvement in World War Two

More recently, the Karton Empire, participated in defeating the Axis Powers in the Second World War in 1939-1945. Most notably was their involvement in Operation Overlord and participation on D-Day June 6, 1944. Landing at the little known Uno Beach with 30,000 troops, the Karton Empire was able to secure a beach head under tough conditions (although nothing like Omaha Beach). You could say that by playing their cards correctly, they were able to reverse the situation.

Karton Empire's Rise to Power

Croc with his favourite beverage

The Karton Empire's more recent rise to power has been an economic one. This has been on the back of the successful production of Iced Coffee Trees. These trees grow annual crops of fresh Iced Coffee Cartons ready to label, refrigerate and consume. Most exporting success has been to Australia with millions of cartons sold each year. This multi-billion Dollar business continues to grow worldwide.

Iced Coffee Trees have long grown in the grassy plains in the middle of Roe Island and have always been a popular beverage in the Empire.
